Ceramic Coating in Everett, WA
Blue Star Auto Salon provides professional ceramic coating in Everett, Washington, for vehicles and boats throughout Snohomish County. A ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that bonds to your paint and cures into a hard, hydrophobic layer, locking in gloss, repelling water and grime, and making maintenance dramatically easier.
What Ceramic Coating Does
A quality ceramic coating creates a durable, water-repelling barrier on top of your finish. Water beads and sheets off, dirt struggles to stick, and washing takes a fraction of the time. It also adds depth and gloss, and helps defend against UV fading, light chemical staining, and oxidation. Unlike wax, which washes away in weeks, a professional coating lasts for years.

Ceramic Coating vs. Wax vs. PPF
- Wax is a short-term shine that needs constant reapplication.
- Ceramic coating is a long-term gloss and easy-clean layer, but it does not stop rock chips.
- Paint protection film is physical impact protection.
The strongest setup combines them. We often pair STEK’s Final Coat ceramic coating over PPF, which deepens the gloss and extends the film’s warranty from 10 years to 12.
Coating options we offer
- Paint ceramic coating for daily drivers, new cars, and show vehicles.
- PPF top coating (Final Coat) applied over paint protection film for added gloss and an extended warranty.
- AQUAcoat marine ceramic for boats and personal watercraft.
- Add-on coatings for wheels, glass, and trim.

Our Process
- Decontamination. Wash, iron-decon, and clay to strip embedded contaminants.
- Paint correction. Because a coating locks in the surface beneath it, we correct swirls and defects first so you lock in a flawless finish, not flaws.
- Application. The coating is applied by hand in a controlled environment, panel by panel.
- Cure. The coating is left to cure properly before the vehicle returns to you.

Ceramic Coating FAQ
How long does a ceramic coating last?
SA professionally applied coating lasts for years with proper care, far longer than wax or spray sealants. STEK’s Final Coat, applied over PPF, contributes to a 12-year film warranty.
Does ceramic coating stop scratches and rock chips?
No. A coating adds gloss, hydrophobicity, and chemical and UV resistance, but it is not impact protection. For chip and scratch defense, you need paint protection film. The two work best together.
Is ceramic coating worth it?
If you want lasting gloss and far easier washing, yes. It also helps protect against UV fading and staining and supports resale value.
Does PPF really self-heal?
Yes. STEK’s top coat reflows with heat, so light surface scratches and swirl marks vanish in the sun or with warm water. Deep gouges that cut through the film will not heal, but everyday surface marks do.
Can you ceramic coat a boat?
Yes. We use AQUAcoat marine ceramic, formulated to resist saltwater, UV, and grime in the marine environment.
